University of Indianapolis ‘Standout’ Joins Indy Partnership as Business Development Coordinator
INDIANAPOLIS (September 1, 2009) — Chelsey Soplanda has joined Indy Partnership, the regional economic development organization serving 10 counties in Central Indiana, as a business development coordinator.
Soplanda is responsible for responding to requests for information; creating economic development proposals; and helping to meet the day-to-day demands of clients, prospects and site consultants who are considering locating new jobs in the Indianapolis Region.
Soplanda will graduate this December with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Indianapolis. Soplanda interned for the University of Indianapolis – School of Business, where she created and implemented the new UIndy Business Association for incoming students.
Soplanda serves on the board of directors of the Student Business Leadership Academy at the University of Indianapolis. She is also the chief networking officer for the Finance Club. Soplanda was the recipient of the Joan V. Persell Scholarship in 2008, which was awarded to the top non-senior finance scholar in the School of Business at the University of Indianapolis. She received the honor of Student Employee of the Year for the 2008-2009 school year at the University of Indianapolis, and she was the Veazey Award Recipient, which is awarded to the most outstanding senior in the School of Business.
