Local Sales Executive and Civic Leader Joins Indy Partnership as newly created Director of Corporate Development
Decorated national sales manager Rob Albright served on committees for NCAA Men’s Final Four basketball tourneys and World Basketball Championships
INDIANAPOLIS (January 13, 2009) — Ron Gifford, president and CEO of the Indy Partnership, announced today that local sales executive and civic leader Rob Albright has joined the Indy Partnership as its first director of corporate development.
In this newly created position, Albright is responsible for attracting new investors and managing relationships with existing investors. As a privately-funded, not-for-profit economic development organization, the Indy Partnership relies upon monetary and in-kind contributions to fund its mission of bringing new jobs and investment to the 10-county Indianapolis Region.
“Rob comes to the Indy Partnership with many years of successful experience working with the CEOs and senior managers of large corporations on complicated projects,” Gifford said. “The combination of his professional experience, civic leadership and volunteerism, and his palpable passion for the Indianapolis Region made him the right choice for this important new position. Rob will help us generate the resources we need to aggressively market the great assets of our region to prospects all over the U.S, Europe and Asia.”
Most recently, Albright served as manager of distribution and sales for national accounts with Covidien Imaging Solutions, a $2 billion global healthcare products company. Prior to advancing to national accounts manager, Albright held a number of sales management positions at Covidien as well as with other medical device and services companies. Throughout his career, Albright has earned achievement awards including “President’s Club,” “Circle of Excellence,” and “Rookie of the Year” designations. He is also a Certified Professional Selling Skills Trainer and past honoree of the Indiana Young Business Leaders.
Albright serves on the boards of directors for Sycamore Group Realty and Victory Partners, Inc. He is a committee member for the Midwest Amateur Baseball League and a CYO Junior High School Basketball Coach at St. Pius Catholic Church and Assistant Freshman Basketball Coach at Guerin Catholic High School. He also held volunteer positions with the organizing committees of the 2002 World Basketball Championships as well as the 1996 and 1992 NCAA Final Four Men’s Basketball tourneys.
Albright earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University—Bloomington where he played varsity football, was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, and served as senior chairperson for the Indiana University Student Foundation.
Albright lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Maggie, and their three sons. His father is renowned attorney Terrill D. Albright, former president of the Indiana State Bar Association and a partner at the law firm of Baker & Daniels for 42 years.
