Sports is a catalyst for development and positive change throughout the Indianapolis region. We have a rich history of hosting professional and amateur sporting events, including the 2012 Super Bowl. Indy is home to the NCAA, Indiana Sports Corp, and a wide array of professional sports teams. While we are known as the Amateur Sports Capital, we are most recognized as the Racing Capital of the World.
Motorsports in the Indy region goes beyond the Indy 500, not that there is anything wrong with hosting the largest single-day sporting event in the world each year. This region and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway have always been a proving grounds for automotive and racing technologies.
We are home to the Indy Car series and the Dallara factory. In addition to those two mainstaiys, other notable employers include USAC and Lucas Oil Raceway.
